In my research group, we combine modern synthetic approaches with detailed physicochemical characterization to develop new materials for solar fuels generation and power-to-X applications. For detailed information, see Research. If you are interested in helping to solve problems with renewable energies, see Forschungsarbeiten und Abschlussarbeiten or Open Positions.
At the University of Bayreuth, we are teaching in the Bachelor- and Master courses of Chemie, Polymer- und Kolloidchemie, Materials Chemistry and Catalysis, Polymer Science. We are involved in the Advanced Fields Polymer- and Colloid-Science and Advanced Materials. Further, we support the doctoral programms Materials Chemistry and Catalysis, and Polymer Science of the Bayreuth Graduate School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences (BayNAT).
Additionally, we promote the Zusatzstudium Nachhaltigkeit at University of Bayreuth.

In our latest review article, we examine common misconceptions regarding the synthesis, characterisation and performance evaluation of heterogeneous photocatalysts, and provide detailed guidance on how to avoid these errors. The guidelines presented here can help to improve reporting on the performance of photocatalysts in environmental applications, including the degradation of pollutants, water splitting, and the reduction of CO₂ and N₂.
